Sheila's Bran Rolls

1 cup margarine (2 sticks)
3/4 cup sugar plus 1/2 teaspoon
1 cup All-Bran cereal
2 eggs
6 cups flour
2 packages yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • Boil 1 cup of water, remove from heat and add the margarine.  When melted; add sugar, salt, All-Bran, and 3/4 cup lukewarm water.  Set aside and let cool.
  • Dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup of water (approximately 110 degrees), add 1/2 teaspoon sugar.  Set aside for about 5 minutes until the yeast has grown.
  • When butter mixture has cooled add the yeast and eggs, mix well
  • Add flour and knead briefly in the bowl (the dough will be very sticky.)
  • Cover the bowl with paper towels and let rise 2 hours.
  • Spray 2- 9 x 13 pans with non-stick spray.
  • Form the dough into small balls, space them 3 across, not touching.
  • Cover again, let rise 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bake for about 28-30 minutes, until slightly brown.
